A bunch of American snowboarders built themselves a bikecar in 2006 and rode it across the US, in the middle of winter. We haven't heard anything similar being created on the west coast, where 10-lane or 16-lane freeways rule in the SF Yay Area and Los Angeles.
So. Question. If General Motors, killers of the EV1, built a bikecar that was deemed reliable by Consumer Reports, *would you buy one*?

Because we all know there is NO SUCH THING as a "Green Car" which is why the Norwegian Government BANNED car companies from using green words such as these, in TV/billboard/magazine ads:
- environment
- green
- eco-friendly
- natural
On the other hand, bicycles are much more "friendly" to our natural environment and each other, mainly because they don't use fossil fuels to propel themselves.

So just as a reminder: Car companies are not and can never be green (non-polluting or hyperextractive) and they know this! Which is why all members of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, along with Western States Petroleum Association give generously to politicians, lawsuits and propositions against reducing consumption of autos and oil.
For good measure, BMW stuck it to Honda this year, although anyone could cry "pot kettle"... thanks Suitcase of Courage for the scoop.

And to finish up, we give the bird to: Ford, Chrysler, GM, Toyota, Honda, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, the 7 Sisters of Standard Oil, their lobbyists and the enabling mobster political parties (Republican / Democrat).

bikecar
I'm the designer/builder of the bikecar and the producer of the documentary "bikecar". First, no one involved with the project is from the East Coast. Second, timmygreen, please remove the photo of the bikecar you posted without permission. Not only did you not get permission or give the proper photo credit, but you put lickmygreenballs.com over the photo.
I own this photo and am totally against this site and what it stands for. TAKE IT DOWN NOW!
hey
Hi,
Great work on the bikecar and my apologies for being so presumptuous! I don't know what I was thinking. Will be more careful in the future.
This site's purpose is to highlight examples of corporate greenwashing and unsustainability, while promoting truly sustainable solutions. You aren't against sustainable solutions though so are you just against exposing greenwash?
Cheers.
